Thursday
Added some arrows to spruce up the menus check out http://campbellriverrealtor.com/ and let me know what you think. Been trying to work in the framework of the templates but add things that help clients navigate the page and click thru.

Wed
Today started out fine but kind of slowed down didn't see any news or regular reworks and most of the license sites need to be switched over from the old server which takes a day. First really slow day since I started. Hoping it'll will pick back up for the rest of the week.

Tday
Wow seeing good results on some sites lately with over 120 first page placements in the first week. Not sure if its something I did or if the kw's were just that obscure. Anyway I'll take it as a team effort and I did my part. Had a good day hump day tommorrow.

TGIF
The new changes have brought production speed down, but quality up and as we get used to the new routine production will catch back up. I'm sure by the end of the year there will be 5-6 more sites that we will be signing clients up for to increase visibility and ranks. As long as we as a team stay ahead of the curve in step with SEO changes there is no stopping us.

Thursday
Setting up a template for putting pics and sprucing up the content area along with reworking my award banner to be able to put more content in. This job keeps you on your toes as soon as you think you have something down we add or switch things up which keeps things fresh. Actually excited to see where this company is headed and happy to be on board for the exciting trip.

hump day
Today got off to a good start but I got hung up on a site trying to add the pictures and purchase info from their site. For some reason I just couldn't get the text to line up with the pictures. I tried text-align:center; I did everything but put everything separately into their own divs. It reminded me how design can be time consuming if you get caught trying to solve the puzzle. Nothing is worse than thinking you know how to do something and for some reason its not working. I ended up just placing the documents and text using margins and got it reasonably close to the results I was looking for.

Tuesday
Today was good still reworking most accounts are ranking up pretty fast. Noticed alot of clients complaining about various things. What's crazy is they can have 200 first page placements and have their guarantee 10x and still not be happy. I guess you cant make all people happy all the time but we try. We as a team are dedicated and willing to do what ever it takes to please a client, no ranks means were not happy since thats what we are working hard all day for.

Monday
Today I had a special site which was actually an inhouse site that was in a pink folder.If you get account http://owenjusticedds.com/ don't treat it like a license site. Its an account telling people about someone practicing bad dentistry. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up.

TGIF
Had a good week, as a team were still churning out at a pretty high level. For those of you who have had any problems with backgrounds try this code out:
{
background: url('../images/site_bg.gif');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment:fixed;
background-position: 50px 100px;
}
and position exactly where you want works well for backgrounds but you can really utilize it when you use a background image throughout the site.

Pages are ranking so as a part of the team it feels like our collective efforts are paying off. One client beginnerstrading.com has been back 4 times and still isn't ranking I think its because of the general and unlocalized keywords. Check them out and let me know what you think?
1. day trading school
2. investing for beginners
3. learn online investing
4. learn online trading
5. learn stock trading
6. online investing education
7. self directed investor
8. stock trading education
9. stock trading for beginners
10.trading and investing
Trading and investing is in the millions as well as online investing education. My conclusion is the more general the keywords the less business that is coming your way but the client is fighting adding localized keywords, but wants ranks I wonder which came first the chicken or the egg.......

Having Fun
Had fun mirroring a site today check it out http://globalcutleryset.com the thing stopping the perfect mirror is the 777 or 900 width. So even if it looks the same it wont be an exact mirror which probably only drives me crazy lol.

Monday and Rootbeer Floats
Worked on a couple mlm's that had the exact same landing page just different urls. This made today pretty easy and I had a chance to go over floats in CSS. If using floats to create a webpage:
* Design the layout (on paper or in a graphics tool or in my head).
* Determine where the site divisions are going to be.
* Determine the widths of the various containers and the elements within them.
* Float everything.
Even the outermost container element is floated to the left so that I know where it will be in relation to the browser view port.
As long as you know the widths (percentages are fine) of your layout sections, you can use the float property to put them where they belong on the page. And the nice thing is, you don't have to worry as much about the box model being different for IE or Firefox.

Thursday
Good day doing rentals and a new account check one out. http://oahubeachfronthomesforsale.com/
Writing alot of content lately not too bad because its not mlm's and even though cape cod was boring, hawaii was pretty cool until I heard they have $10 a gallon milk. Waiting on keywords to finish out another account again feels like I always have an account in que when I come in the next day which isn't that bad.

SEO
Good day today alot of content writing, little bit of design. Worked on rental/license accounts 945 and 1012 along with a hot. No mirror just my own reflection. As I learn new things it always makes me feel like going back to some of my earlier creations, which I might do if its a known mistake. Anyways make your next one your best one.

Having Fun
Had a good day mixture of new accounts and rentals. Lets see whats going on now, had a new account that was parked on godaddy's server that caused me a little problem in the beginning because I was already waiting on the domain name itself which was missing. Anyway AC tomorrow yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Monday
Running through alot of pink folders lately. The only problem is most need to be moved off of dreamhost which takes a day so depending on the workload you might have 2-3 pinks waiting on tomorrow which can make for some uneven Mondays.

Happy 4th of July
Ok I think I finally got the content writing down, all keywords have to be able to be searched in their entirety or its coming back as a rework so bad grammar is a must. Also make sure all the keywords are in the first 4-5 paragraphs because after that is too far for the potential customer (lol) to scroll down. And when it says links don't work it really means the original clients site is not working which is already noted in the seo back end notes: so check that first. Have a Happy 4th of July - fireworks are a must!

Image Border
Wrestled all day trying to take two slightly different border images (a rightside and a leftside) and place them repeat-y to border the website. Thanks to Daniel I'll be able to sleep tonight. Either the right side was good and the left was askew or vice versa. The code that saved me:
#maintitle, #contentarea, #mainarea {
background: #fff url(/images/borderL.jpg) top left repeat-y;
margin-right: 20px; /*this needs to be at least the size of the image */
}
#main {background: transparent url(/images/borderR.jpg) top right repeat-y;}

margin-right: 20px; /*this needs to be at least the size of the image */
}
#main {background: transparent url(/images/borderR.jpg) top right repeat-y;}

Good Day
Another day in the life of a SEO Tech, as I mentioned in my earlier blogs that change is always on the horizon in SEO. Feels like we are getting a whole lot more freedom when it comes to the design element on Timberlake. More work but not busy work, actual design elements to please the clients and make the page rank better. Looking forward to tommorrow to see how I'm going to incorporate the changes into sites.
