Good day and looking forward to the rockband tonight at big steve's house, Good week alot of changes rolling with the punches and looking forward to next week.

Tday

Today seemed like alot was going on internally as a company. On my end everything is going alot smoother and definitely alot quicker. The one problem is printing takes forever and everyone is printing all day. Honestly I think printing 15 accounts in a day is probably the maximum. Its just holding back production a little bit but I guess once all the client sites have been submitted then the strain on the printer will go back to normal.

Wday

Today was a hectic day getting a make shift css template up to make things faster didnt spend to much time on it though considering the xsl file will be changing soon. Work on my click here now button and really just trying to get the steps down and streamline them from here on out. As always with a bunch of changes it takes a little while to work through the kinks until you start churning them out. Until tomorrow.

TGIF

Today was a good day finishing up a hectic week. The new content management links are looking good and the 10 page website is coming along with no help from the client. Looking forward to next week and facing the new tasks of the week.

Tday

Today we were reprimanded about the quality of our recent work after the first one on the stack which was just plain horrible missing about everything on the checklist. Almost 99% of reworks were for more content,or not ranking add content, even though I know at least on mine I added content sometimes rewrote it just a couple of days ago. How can it rank in 2 days it can't. If content writing is the issue its something that takes time and really pushes down the productivity of the team when every rework is as time consuming as a new minus submissions but you have to write content which sometimes takes longer. As a team we just need to check the specs, if that is done and 2 days it comes back with same old add content, enrich content and you've done it all and its up to specs then what would be left to argue?

Tday

One stack down way to go guys. Now its on to the 1900's. Finished a new and put a dent in the stack that the team obliterated over the last couple days. Almost friday until then enjoy rework heaven.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Wday

Rework heaven running through the 2 huge rework stack with a couple news sprinkled in for good measure. Pretty good day I dont know what the final numbers were productivity wise but it looked like output was good today as a team. And the world turns!

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Tday

Things have balanced out and it seems that we have caught up on a lot of work. As a team everyone is working together well and I think our productivity will reflect that in today's final numbers. Another big stack of reworks is waiting in the shadows, okay 2 stacks time to break out the big stick lol.

Monday, September 22, 2008

Monday

Hectic Monday with a lot of printing issues now that we have to print double the documents it takes a lot longer and with everyone trying to print at the same time because if you don't you wont have anything to turn in at the end of the day makes it pretty difficult. Its a new situation and hopefully we can work out the kinks soon.

Thursday, September 18, 2008

TGIF

Were playing musical chairs , the office is moving around and so are we. Had a good day as a team we ran through all the news and most of the reworks along with some sendbacks. Until the next stack .....

Tday

Today was busy but as a team we stayed productive and ran through all the news which were the priority of the day. As the reworks that come back don't need to be upgraded to fed because of already being updated productivity is going up. Until the next big stack......have a good day.

Monday, September 15, 2008

Monday

Live everyday like its your last because it might be. Roughly translated work everyday like it might be your last and it won't be. Reworks galore the stack is down to about 1\3 of what it was and that just the stack on my desk lol. Actually as a team we are running through them pretty quickly and on too the 1800's.

Friday, September 12, 2008

TGIF

Busy week full of reworks but as a team we are working through the stacks one by one, once were finished hopefully it will be back to business as usual the reworks are taking as long as a new because other than submissions which some of the reworks also need they are basically the same whether you upgrade to fed or create a new account.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Wed

It was a very busy day and from the looks of the turned in folders we as a team did a great job and had a very productive day. With changes it takes time to implement and put them in your normal routine but once the changes are second nature its amazing how you can do more with the same amount of time.

Monday, September 8, 2008

monday

Another busy day, full of wonderful reworks, today was a productive day except for the fact that I had to do a couple resubmittals which slowed down my output somewhat. Nothing new this week basically we need to as a team put notes in the backend which has always been required, I understand maybe missing 1 out of 50 because of always having to sign back in but after the email reminding us I go back and check every site I've done for the week just to make sure.

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Tday

Swamped with reworks, but busy is always better than not the days are flying by. More changes with the content wrapping around the left links and cartoon of the day, not much of a problem not sure it looks good with the content spread out but if the web user scrolls down that far I guess it makes it easier to read.

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

WED

Good day today finishing some more reworks and revisited the 1page webbuild, had a couple of changes to be made. Have a good day see everyone tomorrow.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Tday

Weekend over and its back to work, Busy is good its when your not busy that you might have a problem. The Fed transition is pretty much over with most of the kinks worked out and productivity as a team seems to have picked up. Alot of the reworked accounts are ones that were put in while the fed upgrade was underway which caused alot of little things like the contact now button and certain links and pictures were not showing up. Anyway it seems like all systems go and were going through the stacks pretty fast.

Friday, August 29, 2008

Friday

Today was another good day. Worked the rework stack down and finally made a dent in it. Finished my 90 days and I'm still blogging, always a good thing. All the new changes like the ones before take a little while to adjust to but I think we are starting to streamline it and get our production back up to where it was before. Work is good 3 day weekend I've been talking about all week cant complain. Have a good Labor Day Weekend Everybody.

Thursday, August 28, 2008

Tday

Today was back to reworks, which was fine once we get everything fed-x every site they won't take so long to fix the little problems. 3 day weekend coming up and just finished my 90day period and I've already learned alot in 3 months and am looking forward to the challenges ahead.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

wday

Today was hectic, we added a new page curl on top of the list of things to do with an account. It went from 4-5 news a day to 1 maybe 2 if its just a cookie cutter mlm that doesnt need any design. Hopefully it keeps or ups our ranks and all will be worth it.

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Tday

Today was a good day it seems that we are making a good dent in all these reworks. When you throw in the switch to kfed were making good progress as a team. Looking forward to the nice 3 day weekend coming up see everyone tomorrow.

Thursday, August 21, 2008

t-day

Today was hectic, alot of reworks, okay an avalanche of reworks and after completing the notes on the front of the folders they came back some in less than an hr with a different note on the front. I have no problem getting it right and I realize that every account that we come in contact with needs to be checked for all proper protocol. The only complaint is how do we rework the content for new accounts that havent even ranked yet, that the content writers just submitted the content for?

Monday, August 11, 2008

Monday

Another monday in the bag check out www.Rythmtrail.net a pretty good music/mlm site. Check out my css top-links let me know what you think. I figured it would be too much work to get his buttons since they were embedded in flash. I thought it was a little cleaner but thats my biased opinion.

Friday, August 8, 2008

TGIF

Friday is always a good day, today was pretty busy which is always good. We had a new add on to the normal site submissions, SEO is always changing. Got a pretty clean css template I finished yeah and it feels like the team is running through accounts pretty quickly and everyone is ranking pretty well. They announce a sort of employee of the month and a day out of paintball next month which is always fun and shows that the employees mean something more than just a cog in the wheel. Happy employees are always more productive that's a fact just not too happy lol.

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Thursday

Today was kind of a slow day no new accounts for most of the first part of the day. Started trying to make the bullets stand out more and dress up the content to lead the potential clients eyes down the page. Also worked on fixing up squidoo lens that I had made for new accounts I worked. All in all a good day %)

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

Wed

Today was a good day ran into the same problem with the creating basically a table with css check it out let me know what you think.http://make100kfromhome.com/ I think I could have scaled down the css code a little bit more but ran out of time.

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Tday

Today was a pretty good day. I'd say that over half the accounts I've seen are ranking pretty high and almost all are meeting the clients needs. Then there are the couple that have no ranks no matter how much content is added or even a resubmittal. Most of those can be reduced to very general or generally bad keywords. I don't know if the couple that remain that fall into none of the above weren't submitted right or if the search engines just don't like something about them. I've heard of someone accidentally clicking adult on one of the submissions and it wouldn't rank. Anyway I guess every folder is a challenge of a different sort just highlighting one I ran into today bestuniquefurniture

Monday, August 4, 2008

Monday

Had a good day despite a little construction in the office it was productive. Trying to work on my mirroring skills, but some sites are so drab its hard to come up with inspiration. I always try to improve on the site but also keep in mind how much time is allotted for each new account to get done.

Friday, August 1, 2008

TGIF

Been working alot on license sites. I've been wondering where the original content went. For most of them they have 50+ kws and no content whatsoever. Just wrote a 100kw worth of content on an account that I had to wait 24hrs to clear from dreamhost. Anyways the joy of the pinks.

Thursday, July 31, 2008

Thursday

Added some arrows to spruce up the menus check out http://campbellriverrealtor.com/ and let me know what you think. Been trying to work in the framework of the templates but add things that help clients navigate the page and click thru.

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Wed

Today started out fine but kind of slowed down didn't see any news or regular reworks and most of the license sites need to be switched over from the old server which takes a day. First really slow day since I started. Hoping it'll will pick back up for the rest of the week.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Tday

Wow seeing good results on some sites lately with over 120 first page placements in the first week. Not sure if its something I did or if the kw's were just that obscure. Anyway I'll take it as a team effort and I did my part. Had a good day hump day tommorrow.

Friday, July 25, 2008

TGIF

The new changes have brought production speed down, but quality up and as we get used to the new routine production will catch back up. I'm sure by the end of the year there will be 5-6 more sites that we will be signing clients up for to increase visibility and ranks. As long as we as a team stay ahead of the curve in step with SEO changes there is no stopping us.

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Thursday

Setting up a template for putting pics and sprucing up the content area along with reworking my award banner to be able to put more content in. This job keeps you on your toes as soon as you think you have something down we add or switch things up which keeps things fresh. Actually excited to see where this company is headed and happy to be on board for the exciting trip.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

hump day

Today got off to a good start but I got hung up on a site trying to add the pictures and purchase info from their site. For some reason I just couldn't get the text to line up with the pictures. I tried text-align:center; I did everything but put everything separately into their own divs. It reminded me how design can be time consuming if you get caught trying to solve the puzzle. Nothing is worse than thinking you know how to do something and for some reason its not working. I ended up just placing the documents and text using margins and got it reasonably close to the results I was looking for.

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Tuesday

Today was good still reworking most accounts are ranking up pretty fast. Noticed alot of clients complaining about various things. What's crazy is they can have 200 first page placements and have their guarantee 10x and still not be happy. I guess you cant make all people happy all the time but we try. We as a team are dedicated and willing to do what ever it takes to please a client, no ranks means were not happy since thats what we are working hard all day for.

Monday, July 21, 2008

Monday

Today I had a special site which was actually an inhouse site that was in a pink folder. If you get account http://owenjusticedds.com/ don't treat it like a license site. Its an account telling people about someone practicing bad dentistry. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up.

Friday, July 18, 2008

TGIF

Had a good week, as a team were still churning out at a pretty high level. For those of you who have had any problems with backgrounds try this code out:
{
background: url('../images/site_bg.gif');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment:fixed;
background-position: 50px 100px;
}

and position exactly where you want works well for backgrounds but you can really utilize it when you use a background image throughout the site.

Thursday, July 17, 2008

Tday

Pages are ranking so as a part of the team it feels like our collective efforts are paying off. One client beginnerstrading.com has been back 4 times and still isn't ranking I think its because of the general and unlocalized keywords. Check them out and let me know what you think?

1. day trading school
2. investing for beginners
3. learn online investing
4. learn online trading
5. learn stock trading
6. online investing education
7. self directed investor
8. stock trading education
9. stock trading for beginners
10.trading and investing

Trading and investing is in the millions as well as online investing education. My conclusion is the more general the keywords the less business that is coming your way but the client is fighting adding localized keywords, but wants ranks I wonder which came first the chicken or the egg.......

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Splash

Finished my first Splash Page which I found out was not much different than a normal new account. Check it out let me know what you think http://oahu-electrician.com. Had a pretty good day alot of new things as usual in the ever changing world of SEO. Link building is the new initiative and I guess well see results soon enough.

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Having Fun

Had fun mirroring a site today check it out http://globalcutleryset.com the thing stopping the perfect mirror is the 777 or 900 width. So even if it looks the same it wont be an exact mirror which probably only drives me crazy lol.

Monday, July 14, 2008

Monday and Rootbeer Floats

Worked on a couple mlm's that had the exact same landing page just different urls. This made today pretty easy and I had a chance to go over floats in CSS. If using floats to create a webpage:

* Design the layout (on paper or in a graphics tool or in my head).
* Determine where the site divisions are going to be.
* Determine the widths of the various containers and the elements within them.
* Float everything.

Even the outermost container element is floated to the left so that I know where it will be in relation to the browser view port.

As long as you know the widths (percentages are fine) of your layout sections, you can use the float property to put them where they belong on the page. And the nice thing is, you don't have to worry as much about the box model being different for IE or Firefox.

Thursday

Good day doing rentals and a new account check one out. http://oahubeachfronthomesforsale.com/
Writing alot of content lately not too bad because its not mlm's and even though cape cod was boring, hawaii was pretty cool until I heard they have $10 a gallon milk. Waiting on keywords to finish out another account again feels like I always have an account in que when I come in the next day which isn't that bad.

Wednesday, July 9, 2008

SEO

Good day today alot of content writing, little bit of design. Worked on rental/license accounts 945 and 1012 along with a hot. No mirror just my own reflection. As I learn new things it always makes me feel like going back to some of my earlier creations, which I might do if its a known mistake. Anyways make your next one your best one.

Tuesday, July 8, 2008

Having Fun

Had a good day mixture of new accounts and rentals. Lets see whats going on now, had a new account that was parked on godaddy's server that caused me a little problem in the beginning because I was already waiting on the domain name itself which was missing. Anyway AC tomorrow yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Monday, July 7, 2008

Monday

Running through alot of pink folders lately. The only problem is most need to be moved off of dreamhost which takes a day so depending on the workload you might have 2-3 pinks waiting on tomorrow which can make for some uneven Mondays.

Thursday, July 3, 2008

Happy 4th of July

Ok I think I finally got the content writing down, all keywords have to be able to be searched in their entirety or its coming back as a rework so bad grammar is a must. Also make sure all the keywords are in the first 4-5 paragraphs because after that is too far for the potential customer (lol) to scroll down. And when it says links don't work it really means the original clients site is not working which is already noted in the seo back end notes: so check that first. Have a Happy 4th of July - fireworks are a must!

Image Border

Wrestled all day trying to take two slightly different border images (a rightside and a leftside) and place them repeat-y to border the website. Thanks to Daniel I'll be able to sleep tonight. Either the right side was good and the left was askew or vice versa. The code that saved me:

#maintitle, #contentarea, #mainarea {
background: #fff url(/images/borderL.jpg) top left repeat-y;
margin-right: 20px; /*this needs to be at least the size of the image */
}

#main {background: transparent url(/images/borderR.jpg) top right repeat-y;}

Good Day

Another day in the life of a SEO Tech, as I mentioned in my earlier blogs that change is always on the horizon in SEO. Feels like we are getting a whole lot more freedom when it comes to the design element on Timberlake. More work but not busy work, actual design elements to please the clients and make the page rank better. Looking forward to tommorrow to see how I'm going to incorporate the changes into sites.

Monday, June 30, 2008

Just another Monday

Today started out productive finished 2 new accounts by lunch and was waiting on a fresh install on a 3rd I figured when I got back from lunch it should be up and running. Everytime this happens I tell myself I am going to make it part of my routine to check every new with godaddy but I never do. After messing with it another hour I figured out the domain name wasn't registered so I left a support ticket. Then grabbed another new account I got to the search engine submittal and was waiting on the keywords to be approved on the admin backend and they never showed up so I guess there is always tomorrow.

Friday, June 27, 2008

TGIF

It was good week, as a company it seems like we are running on full cylinders and definitely ready for whatever is around the corner. Ran into some problems trying to get the mirrored websites to show up the same in IE and Firefox and........i guess SAFARI, it just reminded me that even though I'm designing in Firefox which is clearly superior to IE every one else is still using AOL, lol i mean IE. Thats how it used to be everyone stuck on AOL because they were used to it paying 20+ dollars while other browsers were free and superior, cant be scared to change with the times prove that its better and make the change.

Thursday, June 26, 2008

Vegas Heat

Life working in SEO is pretty fun, and it changes often enough to keep you on your toes and not stuck in a routine. Making sites that mirror the clients is sometimes hilarious, I've always looked at the clients original and figured if my was better with the same color code that I did a good job, but now to match up with some of the best and the worst you definitely put your css skills to the test.

Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Another day in the life

Switching all the sites to mirror the clients (horrible websites) is very interesting and opens up a whole lot more in terms of design but just doesn't give u that satisfaction at the end of the day. But hey the client is always right.

Monday, June 23, 2008

Monday

Worked on a couple new accounts today, got stumped a little by how long a rework was taking after it transfered from dreamhost to T3. I guess it will be up when I get in tomorrow.

Friday, June 20, 2008

hey tgif

Good day, nice week alot of reworks of reworks but I think I'm getting the gist of what they want when it comes to content writing. The only thing is some of the directions on the folders are sketchy at best I got a couple today that said look at content, I understand but if you already looked at it and saw a problem one line could save me 2 hrs of rewriting everything.

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Almost friday

Another busy day filled with lots of coffee and reworks. I got alot of my own work back today well sort of. When I first started working here I thought add 6 localized kw involved adding the 6kw of content and maybe switching it Timberlake 3 but it actually means type up content for 50 kws that has some content put in but has nothing to do with the kw there isn't even a kw in the pages and pages of content. If the note on the folder said add 50kw no problem but it seemed everything was good other than add 6 localized kw then it comes back add enriched kw to the content it will be nice when we can kill 20 birds with one seo tech lol.

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Wednesday Hump day

Been pretty busy the last couple of days, a lot of reworks and as soon as we get through those it seems like were doing them again. It would be nice to know a little more info about what they want. When it says content enrich and there are 45-80 kw its kind of hard to know what was wrong. Also whatever the criteria for failing we should be able to self check the documents before they go back to save time.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Great Day

Finally got some music going with Pandora's box and windows media player. Before that I had win amp crappy. Music made the day go by fast and I felt more productive but now my ears hurt.

Friday, June 13, 2008

TGIF

Thank god its friday, good week I feel like I was productive. The more you do the more banner templates you have and content to pull from, still tweaking the css code a little to get the look and feel that I want.

Thursday, June 12, 2008

85 keywords

Just finished an account and had to add 85 keywords worth of content, took as long as I thought it would but I guess I cant just do 5-10 keywords of content per account forever.

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Little Things

Another good day in the books. Had trouble switching over a site to timberlake 3, kept trying to refresh it and had no luck. Went in to dreamweaver and used their site manager and it worked out fine

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

end of days

Today went fine until I came across a document that 85 keywords had no content for and the design was on a server I had no access to, I'll tackle that tomorrow hopefully.

Monday, June 9, 2008

Wonderful Monday

A great day in SEO, cant really complain nobody would listen anyway lol. Finished some reworks and made some new banners. It seems the same put every folder you pick up you never know what obstacles you might get so making a checklist of what every done site requires and make sure you don't forget little things like changing the meta tags on sites that have already been updated.

Friday, June 6, 2008

TGIF

Its payday wow that was the fastest longest 2weeks ever if that makes any sense. Getting my content writing down and getting a longer list of .psd banners for future reference all in all I'm having fun and being productive now Im going home and going to be as unproductive as possible have a great weekend!

Thursday, June 5, 2008

seO

Worked on a little organization today keeping my psd header files in order and setting up a file system. Things went pretty smoothly today and I'm learning more about how to troubleshoot which if you can fix any problem you create lol then thats half the battle!

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

A little rain never hurt anybody

Finished 3 new accounts and learned about using godaddy to check to see if a domain name is even registered. Then I think I found if a name has 16characters and the next name is the same ex: postablogathome postablogathomenow then just create the database just back over the last character and put a 1 and it works fine.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

GI Joe

Good day I finally feel like I got some work done. I had a new account and waited an hour for the fresh install. Thought I had done something wrong so I went back through everything and come to find out it needed the domain name registered, no I know and knowing is half the battle someone said, I think it was GI Joe!lol

Monday, June 2, 2008

Its a new day!

I was time consuming problems editing the text in word and matching it with what other people had done. The main problem was when uploading it in timberlake it would do its own thang. Tip of the day was to take it into Dreamweaver and set everything up and then copy everything in between the body tag and then hit the edit html key in timberlake, and paste it in....works like a charm. Thanks again for the tip........

Friday, May 30, 2008

Thank god its Friday

Worked on some reworks, getting a better grasp on writing content, updating sites to timberlake3, new accounts and other routine SEO tasks. Thanks for the pizza and coffee today hey a company that gives back which is good because my car's gas tank eats more than me these days lol. Have fun this weekend everybody see you on Monday!

Thursday, May 29, 2008

Learning alot

Learning a lot about SEO and find its very interesting and fast paced. I’ve always worried about keywords and meta tags in web design but in 3 days I’ve learned more from my fellow employees about the do’s and dont’s of SEO than in 8 years in the web design/ development field.

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Hanging in there!

Busy day working out the kinks and trying to shorten the learning curve. Having fun finished my first new account okay my first account period lol. Having fun thanks guys for all the help today.

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

First Day

So far so good , hey they let u come in an hour late for your first day I can't complain lol. A little bit of paperwork, a bunch of log-ins and passwords and its off to lunch. Went through some of the SEO process, i don't know who picked pink for a folder color but hey, a special color for special content. Everyone is pretty cool and knowledgeable, overall I'm pretty excited on what's to come.......
